PAINT PROTECTION FILM

Improve and protect your vehicle’s appearance, while helping to retain its resale value. This high quality, top coated polyurethane film protects your vehicles paint from stone chips, road debris, insect stains, weathering and minor abrasions. An additional feature of PPF is the film has self healing properties, which allow it to receive minor damage from the elements, stones and debris, but repair itself over time.

WHAT IS IT?

PPF protects your vehicles paint from a wide variety things outside of just simple scratches. Consider the film a buffering layer between your car’s paint job and the elements. It will take more force for debris to cause noticeable dings and dents in your car’s exterior. Even better, the film will protect your car from damage due to road grime and can minimize the corrosive effects that can come from the air. While the film can’t guarantee that your car won’t get damaged, it will make it much more unlikely. This means your paint will continue to look pristine for much longer.

BENEFITS

  • It is imperceptible: You may be covering the vehicle’s paint, but PPF is a thin, transparent layer of protection that is almost impossible to notice.

  • It is customizable for your needs: It is easy to target specific vehicle areas that need an extra layer of protection.

  • It has hydrophobic properties: This means liquids and contaminants will bead up and runoff. It is easier to preserve the brilliant gloss of your paint job when it repels mud, dirt, oils, streaks and smudges.

  • Extends service life of vehicle: Paint protection films preserve the vehicle’s youth because it effectively repels debris.

PROCESS

1. Client Consultation: At Digital Effects, quality and customer satisfaction is our number one objective with any job that comes in our shop. That is why it is important that we meet with each customer prior to their installation appointment; to determine the condition of the vehicle receiving treatment, as well as, determine all of the areas of the vehicle that will need to be covered based on the customers needs.

2. Vehicle Prep: Our next step is to wash and decontaminate all exterior surfaces in preparation for the treatment.

3. Vehicle Re-wash: Before installing any paint protection film, it is essential to re-wash the vehicle to be sure all residual polishing oils and dust from paint correction have been removed.

4. Paint Protection Film: We start by cutting out the film needed to cover the treatment areas. We provide custom installs for the highest level of coverage, which although take much longer to complete, always end with the best results.

5. Final Inspection: Before the vehicle leaves our shop, it receives an inspection of all film edges to be sure the film has not shifted or lifted during the drying process.

Note: The drying process generally takes a minimum of 24-72 hours. Because of this, we will typically need to keep the vehicle a minimum of two days.

FAQ

Q. How many times will the clear coat heal itself?

A. With this technology, there is no limit to the number of times the clear coat can heal itself. As long as the clear coat is not penetrated it will heal over and over again.

Q. What does self-healing paint protection film entail?

A. Innovative technology in the paint protection film causes minor scratches to disappear, which keeps the paint protection film and car’s finish looking new.

Q. How long will PAINT PROTECTION FILM last?

A. Depending on how the film is cared for, realistically around 4 to 7 years depending on driving conditions. Regular washing and waxing will keep the clear coat in top condition for years to come. If possible, try to park your vehicle in the shade or garage to avoid unnecessary UV exposure.

Q. Where can I put clear paint protection film on my car?

A. It can be professionally installed on any painted surface that you want to protect from scratches, chips, stains and other damaging elements. Our PPF protects: Rocker panels from sand and stones kicked up by tires; Trunk ledges from golf clubs, luggage and strollers; Hoods, bumpers and mirror backs from flying gravel, bug damage and tar; Door handle cavities and door edges from rings, keys, belt buckles and purses; Full hoods, trunks and roofs from bird droppings and tree sap.

Q. Is clear or matte paint protection film removable?

A. Yes. Paint protection film is intended to be permanent, but it can be removed without damage to your car’s OEM finish.

Q. What can I use to clean the film with if the Film Cleaner isn’t working?

A. We recommend using the film cleaner and a soft paint safe brush to clean the affected area.
